Of all the plans people put together at the finca, the one we're asked for most is the same: a night to celebrate something, just the two of you. An anniversary, a proposal, a "we survived another year together," or simply getting out of the routine without having to catch a flight.

El Nido Andino is a family coffee farm a couple of hours from Bogotá, in the mountains of La Mesa. It isn't a big hotel or a hundred-room resort: it's two suites, a lot of mountain, and not many people. Exactly what you want when the plan is to be with one person.

Why it works for a couple

An hour and a half from Bogotá and the climate has already changed: you put the jacket away and you're in short sleeves. Mornings here are mist rolling down the coffee, fresh coffee, and nobody outside rushing you. At night, clear skies and the sound of crickets. There isn't much to do but be there, and for a couple that's exactly the luxury.

The suites

Both suites have a balcony with a mountain view, a big tub, and breakfast included. Outside are the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, which on weekdays are almost always yours alone. It's a small farm on purpose: there's rarely a crowd, and that's the idea.

We'll help with the surprise

If you'd like a surprise waiting when you arrive, we'll set it up. Tell us what you're celebrating and we'll handle the decoration, so you don't have to carry anything from Bogotá or hide it in the car.

Things to do together (or to do nothing at all)

There's no fixed agenda. You can walk the coffee fields at your own pace, hike to the Salto de las Monjas waterfall (about forty minutes on foot from the farm), get up early to watch birds with a coffee in hand, or spend the whole day between the pool and a hammock without leaving. Most people choose the last one, and that's perfect.
